Dominica Ramirez

Lead Guide

Dominica Ramirez is the Lead Guide in the Maple Upper Elementary Community. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in anthropology from Louisiana State University. She began working at Oak Meadow Montessori School as a parent volunteer in 2013 and as a Classroom Assistant in 2014. She was inspired to pursue formal Montessori teacher training and received her Montessori Elementary Teacher Certification from the Center for Guided Montessori Studies in 2016. She was a Lower Elementary Assistant and Lead Guide for 5 years before moving into the Upper Elementary environment. Dominica loves to see how people connect to each other and to their surrounding environments. This is something she first became interested in when she studied anthropology, and it is something she sees firsthand in the classroom with the children. She loves seeing how children use a concept as a springboard to dive into other areas of learning.

“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live only as you can.” – Neil Gaiman.
