Erin Williams

Lead Guide

Erin Williams is the Lead Guide for the Scarlet Oak Community. She holds bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia State University, AMI Primary Certification, and MACT accredited Elementary certification for ages 6-12 through CGMS. Erin started her journey in Montessori 21 years ago as a classroom assistant. Through her Montessori journey, she has served as a lead Afterschool Teacher, Primary Guide, Director, and Elementary Guide.

Erin has two children who attended Montessori programs until their transition into Middle School.  Ethan is now at Kennesaw State University and Lily is in high school. When not in school, Erin enjoys hiking, camping, cooking, yoga, and trying different foods with her children and husband Shawne. Erin’s philosophy on teaching is shared in this quote Haim Ginott: “As a teacher, I possess tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all cases it is my response that decides whether a situation will be escalated or de-escalated, or a child humanized or de-humanized.”
