Melina Gonzalez is the Primary afterschool assistant in our Chestnut Community. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Social Work at Georgia State University, with plans to graduate in 2026. Melina has been working with children since 2021 and has experience supporting children with special needs through her certification and work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). She is passionate about how the mind works and how cultural differences shape human experience. Inspired by her work in Montessori education, Melina hopes to integrate Montessori principles into her future career in social work to support children and families in a more holistic, respectful, and empowering way. Her ultimate goal is to become a child advocate, ensuring that every child’s voice is heard and their rights are protected. Outside of school and work, she enjoys exploring new cafes with her husband and savoring a good cup of coffee.
