Classroom Assistant

Mykah Hutton is a Classroom Assistant for the Maple Upper Elementary Community, the Elementary Afterschool teacher, and the OMMS Music Director. Mykah is a graduate of North Carolina Central University and holds a bachelor’s in music with a concentration in Industry and a minor in Theater. She has spent her entire professional career as curriculum writer and teacher for after school programs, as well as creating after school music programs that cater to elementary age students. After her time as a Teaching Artist in Residency at Durham Arts Council, she moved to Athens GA to further her education. She is a musician and her hobbies include all things music, and though she is a songwriter and producer, she also loves to cook and bake. Mykah is recently engaged, and her favorite quote is “Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it’s faced” by James Baldwin.
